Very quick updates with tourdates for february in Colorado and the NorthEast. Check it out!!

Also check out the 5 part series of video lessons I did called "Introduction to Fretless guitar" for MusicVirtuosity.com. To do so, go their website, click on "online music columns" on the main page (bottom), go to "guitar articles" and click on my name. Enjoy !!

For those of you interested in lessons, I am now offering live webcam lessons through a service called MusicVirtuosity.com. Check out the website, look for me in the guitar instructors and sign up for lessons with me. All you need is a webcam and you can enjoy a lesson in the comfort of your home!! Pretty cool.

By the way, check out the MySpace page for the latest gig info and updated audio and all. Sometimes (most of the time) I don't have the time to update both websites at the same time.

Still, 2 new recordings that I'm very proud of were just released a few months ago. First one is

"Paolo Lattanzi Group - Night Dancers", through SILTA Records and
"Gabrielle Louise - Journey", self-released and getting full online distibution.

Check out the STORE page for info on how to purchase those.

In the meantime, I have a few spots open for private lessons ! Check out the lessons page for more details and get in touch with me if you're interested.

Hi.
Sorry for the lack of updates, lately...
Added my last date in the U.S. for 2006, should be interesting.

Hello there!
Check out the (almost) full re-vamping of the website, the layout is slightly different, as well as the audio page and video page. Pretty neat. I like it.

A few gigs added, including a TV show, scroll down for more. Very busy last few weeks, a lot of recording, I'll talk about that when they all come out, very soon... you can check out my newest recorded tune called "Green dust" on my MySpace page, it's the first song in the player. It features Tad McCully on drums, Jon Price on bass and Ted Cruz on keyboards.

Hi everybody !... Long time no see... I just came back from Colorado for an intense tour with singer/songwriter Gabrielle Louise and I'm already back in New York with a full time gigging schedule in the Northeast for the end of this month... More info below.

The gig I'm most excited about will be my trio playing at the Knitting Factory, september 29th as part of the 2006 NYC Fretless Guitar Festival. featuring Josh Giunta on drums and Jon Price (from the band Van Davis) on electric bass. That should be slightly crushing.

On the other hand, I'll be doing quite a bit of recording this october. First with a great quartet, featuring Tad McCully on drums, Jon Price on bass and Ted Cruz on keyboards. Some very interesting modern fusion to be recorded there.
Next stop will be Brookline, MA, recording a few tracks for composer Nelon Navarrete. Rock on.

Check out the audio/video page with some new audio samples from my latest record appearances.

Speaking of records, 2 new recordings that I'm very proud of were just released a few weeks ago. First one is

"Paolo Lattanzi Group - Night Dancers", through SILTA Records and
"Gabrielle Louise - Journey", self-released and getting full online distibution.

A couple new shows added in the New York area as well as an updated Colorado tour schedule. That will be good.
Some more info coming soon on the NYC Fretless Guitar Festival, that should be pretty kicking, if you know what I'm saying (and I think you do).
Ooooooooh yeah. What a last few busy weeks. Some new cool collaborations that you wll hear of in due time. Hello Canada, that's all I gotta say.
Early July I went to New Milford, CT and taught a rock class during the first week of the NATIONAL GUITAR WORKSHOP, with fellow colleague Chris Buono (among other talented musicians). What a great experience and surrounding. Can't wait to be back.

Slowly beginning to revamp the website, for instance, check out the Electric Trio page (more about the trio coming soon, as well).
Also small update of the STORE page, where you can now purchase the second Unicorn compilation called Progression in Balance, volume 2 (featuring aLkemy's Inner Pulse). Coming soon, info on Gabrielle Louise's Journey and Paolo Lattanzi Group's Night Dancers. Stay tuned.

A million shows added for the summer, notably in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and a full tour of Colorado. And MOST NOTABLY playing my own music in Boston, it's gonna crush (ouch).
A small revamp of the site is coming soon, layout stuff. A few interesting things in the can but I'll keep the word low for now and avoid an international crisis !!... hope it will all come together, let's say that, possibly, some new stuff happening with some old stuff. Until then, ALLEZ LES BLEUS !!

In the meantime, I have a few spots open for private lessons ! Check out the lessons page for more details and get in touch with me if you're interested.

Hey there !... long time since the last update.
A few new shows added here and there, check it out.
Other than that, watch out for imminent releases (within a few weeks / months I think) of Gabrielle Louise's album called "Journey", as well as Paolo Lattanzi Group's "Night dancers". I will post links on how to purchase them in the store section as soon as they are available.
You can hear some tracks off of "Journey" on Gabrielle's site (I played guitar on the title track), and also some stuff off of "Night dancers" on Paolo's website. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Hey ! I'm almost all moved in to my new New York City location, which will be officially announced very soon (watch your newspaper).

In the meantime, I have a few spots open for private lessons ! Check out the lessons page for more details and get in touch with me if you're interested.

Other than that, not too much going on for now. A bunch of new shows have been added, with some really interesting ones coming up very shortly ! As always, more shows are coming and awaiting confirmations so come back to check the full updated schedule.
During the 2nd weekend of march, I'll be cutting tracks for the upcoming Jacquelyn Schreiber Group release, which will be engineered by Rich Mendelson. More on that soon.

Happy new year !!... I know, I promised an update early in the new year, but hey, late january is earlier than... early... december... anyways.
A great ending of 2005 with some quality events... first off, the release of "Art kids from the country", the new EP from Lucas Carpenter (and his band that I play in...). 6 tracks of poppy folky singer songwrity tunes, it's available to buy through the STORE SECTION (which really is a link to a real store, that's just a fake store. oh well).
The end of 2005 was also the end of my studies at Berklee and my time living in Boston. wow... time flies. I am now preparing to relocate to New York City in a few weeks and do some more playing with more great people.

I spent my vacation time at home in France, playing a little bit a the "Blueberry" jazz club, also jamming with old friends and working on a demo CD and DVD.
Other than that, a few interesting facts :

As you may or may not realize, the website is now FULLY functionnal, all the sections are open and up and running. All you ever wanted to know about me (but were afraid to ask) is now in the BIO page, what people said about my music is in the PRESS page, buy my numerous quality recordings through my STORE page, learn about my teaching topics (and soon some lessons to download) on the LESSONS page. On top of that, a fully revamped AUDIO/VIDEO section, PICTURES section, a bunch of new LINKS and you can now sign up my MAILING LIST (to your left, enter your email address). That's nice. Isn't it ? yes it is.

In terms of media, available for you to download is a 3 part "demo reel", go to the AUDIO/VIDEO section and figure it out for yourself (it's not that hard). Edited and compiled by the talented Naute, check out his site for great videos, websites and music. You better understand french, too, that will help.
Also, 2 new "audio sampler works" to download, the first one focusing on my bandleading work and the second one on my sideman work, both with a bunch of cool clips. Again, go to the AUDIO/VIDEO section. You can also stream them in the radio (to your left). Enjoy.

Lastly, a few cool new shows coming up in the... Boston area. They should be really cool, I'm very excited for all of these. That will be 2 shows with Lucas Carpenter Band and 1 with Jacquelyn Schreiber Group, check out all the details below.

last updated december 3rd 2005

Hey there... long time since the last update, I had a lot going on, so let me tell you the whole story, as I know for sure you'll enjoy it.

First off, I played with Nate Leath for his senior recital, one "co-comprovised" duet song called "Grey Walls" and two songs as a quintet (another one co-comprovised called "Yellow walls", stretched out for full band), featuring the argentine musical magic of Andres Rotmistrovsky on bass, Marcelo Woloski on percussions and Tomas Babjaczuk on drums. That was simply incredible and the most intense show I've ever done. Unbelievable energy, literally very hard to hang physically... it's like going for a run or something....
And then we headed to the studios to record these 2 songs (being mixed as I type this). Some of these very soon available to listen to here.

Then I recorded some more for Matt Wolpe and his upcoming EP, and also for the new Lucas Carpenter Band EP that should come out at the end of the month, hopefully. 6 songs and a lot of weird instruments.

Some more recording, this time a 15 hour long session to cut a full length jazz album. And we did it... that was hard but we did it. That was with Paolo Lattanzi Group, featuring Paolo on drums / composition, Marco Panascia on bass, Nikolay Moiseenko and saxes, Pau Terol on piano and myself on electric, fretless and nylon string guitar. Also being mixed right now, soon to be available to listen to, hopefully released.
Probably some dates in the NYC and Boston areas in the new year, and hopefully a small european tour during the summer... stay tuned.

At last !! I got to play my own music, with no less than 2 groups that I lead.
First with the Acoustic Trio, featuring two new compositions of mine and the old time crowd pleasers.
Second with the Electric Trio with a bunch of new improvised material and a rendition of a fretless guitar James Brown medley. Pretty rad.
2 tracks available for your listening pleasure :

Then a quick last minute show with Jacqueline Schreiber Band. Was fun, grerat band, I hope to play some more.

And now the year is wrapping up, as well as my studies at Berklee... seems like my last couple of shows for the year (and in the Boston area for a while) will be dec. 13th at the Middle East with Lucas Carpenter Band and dec. 17th at All Asia with Gabrielle Sadler Band (featuring the killing rhythm section of Nate Leath's band...). Please come out !!

And lastly, expect the opening of the remaining sections and addition of medias early next year. See you then.

Keeping it busy here... too busy. Feels good though. Had a blast with the last few gigs, am excited about the new ones, met some great new people, had a lot of fun...

Last saturday's gig with the Acoustic Trio was very good, these guy are just a pleasure to play with, all the time. We premiered a couple of new tunes of mine. And it was just a warm up for my SENIOR RECITAL coming up on november 14th !!

Our gig with the Lucas Carpenter Band at Berklee was really good, I felt. Good audience, great performance and awesome songs. Lucas is a very talented songwriter, check him out if you haven't already.
Click here to listen to some mp3 samples of this very gig.
A couple gigs with that band just added, at T.T. the Bear's and the Middle East, scroll down or go to the gigs page for more info.

Then I headed right off to MixOne Studios for a 10 hour tracking session with singer/songwriter Matt Wolpe, for his upcoming EP, all under the engineering direction of Ted Padduck. Good times.

I got together with violonist Nate Leath a bunch of times in the past couple of weeks, mainly improvising nylon string guitar / violin duet, and the result coming out is just amazing... So amazing we're gonna present some of that at Nate's senior recital at Berklee in a couple of weeks, check it out (scroll down). Nate is an incredibly talented violinist and improviser, it feels extremely good and scarry at the same time to play with him, unbelievable energy... Check out our live recording (audio AND video) of "Yellow walls" in the audio section

I've also started playing with Jacquelyn Schreiber (from aLkemy) in her own project. I didn't know that until now, but she's a great singer and songwriter as well. We should have some shows coming up real soon. That will be good, also...

And finally, I just started collaborating with Italian drummer Paolo Lattanzi. The band he just put together is set to record a full length CD of his own tunes during a one off studio session next month. The music is jazz / fusion, with a twist that I can't really put my finger on yet... But hey, guess what : that will also be good.

Okay, okay, finally a little update on the media material here. Check out all these NEW VIDEOS (Acoustic trio, Electric trio, Kudisan Kai, Lucas Carpenter Band, Nate Leath Duo...) and also some NEW AUDIO (Lucas Carpenter Band). That's just beautiful. No, really.

Hey all. I had a wonderful time at the Detroit Jazz Festival a couple weekends ago, hanging out with these great musicians like McCoy Tyner and Joe Zawinul. Joe's bass player, Linley Marthe was just killing...

Anyways, summer is over (kind of), I had a good time playing all these gigs and doing some jam sessions with David "Fuze" Fiuczynski and bassist Tony Grey (John McLaughlin, Hiromi...), these guys are pretty bad. yeah. you could say that.

Now it's back to school !!... last semester at Berklee College of Music, studying privately with avant-garde guru Chris Buono. His first solo CD "Solitaire" is the craziest and most beautiful stuff I've heard in a long time. Way to go.

Special thanks to Yorick Hossfeld, from Cheek to cheek, for sitting in the drum chair for Chameleon at our last Hotel@MIT appearance. Also a great time with Cheek to cheek as a jazz quartet for an open house reception (what a stretch on these tunes...) and as a full band at Tiernan's pub, really fun.

A few gigs added, notably an all acoustic performance from my own Acoustic Trio at the Cambridge New School of Music, for the art opening of Melanie Maz, a great painter from the Boston area. I can't wait, that should be a lot of fun. More info down below.
The Cheek to cheek next appearance at Tiernan's on october 29th is now moved to november 5th. Yeah, I said it.
More gigs in the works to be confirmed

FInally, the rest of the sections and the videos will be up very shortly, please be patient !!... it's worth it.

A few gigs added with Cheek to cheek, all at Tiernan's Pub in Boston. The dates are september 10th, october 29th and november 17th. Rockin' good fun to top 40, 80's, 90's (sad but true), jazz, disco...

Also Mark Stewart (from the Electric Trio) will be filling in the bass slot tomorrow with Chameleon for the Hotel@MIT gig.

august 13th, 2005

Wow, busy days are these days. So I made my first Blue Note appearance with Ilona Knopfler and her band (Alain Mallet on piano, Jay Ahsby on trombone and percussions, Paul Thompson on bass and Joe Saylor on drums). We played 2 sold out sets sharing the bill with the Sean Jones Quintet. I even got to jam a little bit with Sean Jones as he joined our band on a couple of tunes. That was really cool... You can check out some pictures here.
Be sure to catch my next appearance with Ilona Knopfler at the Detroit Jazz Festival on september 3rd (more info below).

I have been working quite a bit lately with film composer Mike Teoli on this short movie called "The Tomorrow Tree" from "WhoKnew Entertainment", featuring lots of nylon string guitar (because it's so romantic, you know)

The rest of the current gigs is going pretty well and some additionnal things are starting to pop out. Check back for updated.

A few more sections are open now, check out the pictures and the links sections.

last updated july 19th, 2005

Yeaaaahhh !! The new website is finally online, make sure to check out every little section as there are a lot of stuff for you to..... check out... And also a lot more media coming up in the next few weeks, so make sure to come back to get some videos, mp3's, pictures etc... And the rest of the sections is on its way as well (Bio, Store, Press, Lessons etc...).
And actually the layout itself is not really finalized but I wanted to put everything online and work from there... so there, you have it.

I just got back from the M&T Syracuse Jazz Festival where we played 2 blasting shows with Ilona Knopfler. I got to hang out with some great players during these few days, that was really nice...

Lately I've kept myself busy with some recording/film scoring sessions around Berklee in Boston.

In the meantime, you can catch the real thing (yeah, that's me) appearing live during the next few weeks in NY and around Boston. More to come so stay tuned.
